Old Work

Sometimes I get nostalgic for old work I did years and years ago and honestly some of this is kinda cool still. So here it is, just all sorta plopped here. From 2006 and beyond!

Not only did I collect vintage cameras, but I also DREW THEM. Man I was so cool.

I made a pop up alphabet book that you can only experience once. After it’s done, it’s basically destroyed.

Some drawings of normal things around me (check out that flip phone) with wild colors.

For our senior graphic design show in college we screen printed posters on translucent paper and sent them some to our favorite designers. They actually sent us photos back. 🥺 Cool as hell.

I made an alphabet book about animals made only of cut out letters from magazines.

This was a Intro to Web Design school project. It’s kinda cringey but kinda cool!

Ben Jack’s first website! Some of this is good, but mostly it bad.

For a graphic design class I had to make a book with a “Skin” theme. So I photocopied my whole body. Art school rules.

I used to make mixed CDs with album art and everything. This one was 👨🏻‍🍳💋 Listen to it here.

Bobby’s website. I thought it was pretty cool to have navigation drawn by the artist.

Another school project. I love Japanese food so much.

This couple paid me to draw their portraits. I was really into Waking Life in college.

This is when I discovered Helvetica.

I remember thinking I was a GENIUS for designing these super simple Halloween party invites but printing them on colored paper. I mean… they are kinda cool I guess.

I did a series of abstract collages made from magzines.

Just a straight up hand drawn logo joint. 🤷‍♂️

Love these colors, but the style is kinda hurt.

I think this was the first client project I ever did in high school and you know what? They are NOT BAD! You know how easy it would have been to download a handwriting font from Dafont.com? Nah dog I hand-wrote that in the last one.

Designed my desktop once, lol.

Made an alphabet with my body hair. Art school rocks, man.

For a while I was doing these absolutely unhinged artworks? Totally insane but kinda beautiful. I think the point was to make Illustrator crash.

A logo for my college illustrator buddy.

College senior photo show website and postcard. Man I used to love Bello.

This blurry logo. Kinda aight.

Made these designs for a punk band. Still rocks imo.

This one holds up pretty well. 🤷‍♂️ Logo for a dancer, or an actress? I think?

Before music was on Soundclown and Spotify, people made CDs. I hand drew this album art and two tshirts for Elonzo.

I drew this set of uppercase letters called FATSLAB.

A super fat pixel font.

We thought of starting a company, and this was the logo.

I feel like y’all get where I was going with this… Didn’t quite get there, but I was a BABY, gimme a break. If this was drawn well it would be sick.

I was really into ampersands and really wacko patterns, so I drew this ampersand and combined it with these patterns.

Some sad lettering from my sketchbook.

Designed this as a tattoo for someone I met in my freshman year of college, before I knew anything about lettering.

Drew this for my mom’s birthday one year. It’s pretty bad but I think it has potential.

My 21st birthday party invitation.

I lettered the 12 days of Christmas. My mom had them printed on a blanket one year.
